We had planned a ski trip for the PQ and initially we were going to go downhill skiing at the Arizona Snow Bowl but decided since a) it was cheaper, b) we were all novices, that trying our hand (legs) at cross-country skiing would be a good initiation. C.J. was the only young man who was able to come and we are glad he did because it was a beautiful day and we all had a blast. We learned that cross-country skiing is harder than it looks at the olympics. Two necessary things to learn are how to turn when going downhill and how to stop. None of us mastered those basics because the skis are a lot different than the downhill skis. Here are some photos along with some details:
Youth: C.J. Bingham
Adults: Steve Owens, Doug Selin
Location: Flagstaff Nordic Center, Hwy 180
