Welcome to a blog containing information about the activities that the Young Men in the Sun Valley Ward scouting units are participating in. This blog was started and is maintained by the Venture Crew (PQ) but all three units that are in the Sun Valley YM organization are welcome to post entries and activities. The calendar here at the top of the blog will include planned activities for all three quorums. Clicking on an entry will generally provide more information especially if the entry doesn't fully show up due to space limitations. Lake Pleasant Camporee 2010

We went to Box Canyon, near Wickenburg, for the Lake Pleasant Camporee. Scouts who went included Bryon, Braxton, Jacob, Josh, James, and C.J. Bro. Wolfley and Bro. Cole went as leaders (with some ride assistance by Bro. Selin).

We got to our campsite, set up our tents, and had hot cocoa and marshmallows for dessert. We played games around the campfire (including charades), then went to bed.

In the morning, we had toasted (over the fire) bagels, poptarts, and fruit.

We went to the flag ceremony in the morning and then started the day's activities.

Next was the barrel roll (get all team members across the barrel).

Josh then did rappelling.

Overall, it was a fun weekend! Other than bees invading our camp, Bro. Wolfley getting stung by a bee and stepping in a cactus, and C.J. face planting it on the barrel roll, we survived.
